Oral History and Folklife Research works with communities to plan, design and conduct oral history projects that illuminate the community’s past and how the community’s experience has shaped its development. Narrators from the community can provide valuable insight on the social, ethnic and economic development of the community, and the major forces that shaped it. The results of community oral history projects can provide valuable additions to the collections of local historical societies, libraries and museums, providing scholars with a rich vein of research materials as well as a resource for local schools
